Your Wedding Journey

✧ Step One | The Foundation

Choose Your Date & Location

Begin by securing your wedding date and selecting your ceremony location, and reach out to check my availability.

If I’m available, we’ll arrange a relaxed, obligation-free meeting to explore your vision, values, and how you’d like your ceremony to feel.

You’ll also receive a complimentary information guide, thoughtfully prepared to support you through both the planning and legal requirements.

✧ Step Two | Making It Official

Formal Booking & Notice of Intended Marriage

If you are happy  to proceed, we’ll complete the NOIM and start planning your ceremony by completing:

  • Your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) (This must be lodged at least one month before your wedding day)

  • Your identification will be sighted and added to the NOIM

  • We’ll shape your ceremony together through a guided conversation, a questionnaire and resources to help bring your story to life.

✧ Step Three | Your Story Takes Shape

First Ceremony Draft

Drawing from everything we’ve shared, I’ll craft the first draft of your ceremony and send it to you for review.

This is a collaborative process — you’re welcome to refine, adjust, and personalise it until it feels perfectly right for you. I’m always just a call or email away.

✧ Step Four | Final Touches

Rehearsal & Legal Declaration

If you’d like a rehearsal, this is usually held during the week leading up to the marriage (subject to venue availability). Rehearsals are included but optional; some couples love the reassurance, others prefer the magic of experiencing it all on the day.

At this stage, you’ll also sign your Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage (DONLIM) in my presence.
If a rehearsal isn’t required, we can meet closer to the day — or, if needed, complete this step on the wedding day itself.

✧ Step Five | Ready for the Day

Final Ceremony & Certificate Review

Your final ceremony script will be completed and sent to you for approval. You’ll also receive an electronic copy of your Legal Documents so all details can be carefully checked before they are printed to be signed on the day.

✧ Step Six | The Celebration

Your Wedding Day

On the day, I’ll arrive 45-60 minutes before your ceremony to ensure everything flows seamlessly and to coordinate with your other suppliers. I’ll guide you through each moment until I proudly pronounce you married.

✧ Step Seven | The Legal Wrap-Up

Registration of Your Marriage

Following your wedding, I will lodge all required documentation with the Western Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, officially registering your marriage.

✧ Step Eight | Beyond “I Do”

Change of Name (Optional)

Once your marriage is registered, you may apply for your government-issued Certificate of Marriage (usually within 2–4 weeks of the marriage). Once you have received your Official Marriage Cirtificate you may choose to change your name.

You can obtain your certificate by:

  • Ordering directly from the WA Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) in St George’s Terrace, Perth. Online through the BDM website, or by visiting a local courthouse

  • or for a fee, I can apply on your behalf and have it posted to you.

Please note: Changing your name is optional, however a government-issued marriage certificate is required if you choose to do so.
