As required under Australian law:
A Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged at least one month prior to your wedding date (and up to 18 months in advance)
Valid identification must be provided and sighted
If applicable, evidence of divorce or death of a former spouse is required.
Signing the Notice of Intended Marriage.
The NOIM must be witnessed and signed by your celebrant or in the presence of an authorised witness - a justice of the peace, barrister or solicitor, a medical practitioner, or a member of the Australian Federal Police or the police force in your State or Territory.
Required Identification
You’ll need to provide one of the following:
An Australian or overseas passport (preferred, as it confirms photo, date and place of birth), or your original birth certificate (Australian or foreign) plus a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s licence, learner’s permit or WA Photo Card.
Proof of Marriage Termination (if applicable).
If you’ve been previously married, you’ll need to provide a divorce certificate or decree absolute.
A death certificate of your former spouse

Perfect for couples who want a beautifully simple celebration, these ceremonies can be shared with up to 10 guests and include a short, legal ceremony, completion and lodgement of all legal paperwork, and signing of the Official Certificate of Marriage (Form 15) on the day. Rings may also be exchanged.
