Your Wedding Journey
✧ Step One | Planning
Choose Your Date & Location
Begin by choosing your wedding date and selecting your ceremony location. YOU CAN GET MARRIED ANYWHERE IN AUSTRALIA. I can help you choose one if you like.
Then reach out to check my availability. If I’m available, we’ll arrange a relaxed, obligation-free meeting to explore your vision, values, and how you’d like your ceremony to feel.
You’ll also receive a complimentary information guide, thoughtfully prepared to support you through both the planning and legal requirements.
✧ Step Two | Making It Official
Formal Booking & Notice of Intended Marriage
If you are happy to proceed, together we complete the Notice Of Intended Marriage form and start planning your ceremony:
Your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged at least one month before your wedding day and is valid for 18 months.
Your identification will be sighted and added to the NOIM
Together during our meeting we will shape your ceremony through guided conversation, a questionnaire and resources to help bring your story to life.
✧ Step Three | Your Ceremony
First Ceremony Draft
I provide a comprehensive questionnaire at our meeting and ask for this to be returned to me six weeks before your marriage date. Drawing from everything you’ve shared, I craft the first draft of your ceremony and send it to you for review.
This is a collaborative process — you’re welcome to refine, adjust, and personalise it until it feels perfectly right for you. I’m always just a call or email away.
✧ Step Four| Final Touches
Rehearsal & Legal Declaration
If your package includes a rehearsal, this is usually held during the week leading up to the marriage (subject to venue availability). Rehearsals are optional; some couples love the reassurance, others prefer the magic of experiencing it all on the day.
At the rehearsal we will sign the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage (DONLIM) in my presence.
If a rehearsal isn’t required, we can meet closer to the day — or, complete this step on the wedding day itself before the marriage takes place.
✧ Step Five | Ready for the Day
Final Ceremony & Certificate Review
Your final ceremony script will be completed and sent to you for approval. You’ll also receive an electronic copy of your Legal Documents so all details can be carefully checked before they are printed to be signed on the day.
✧ Step Six | The Celebration
Your Wedding Day
On the day, I’ll arrive 45-60 minutes before your ceremony to ensure everything flows seamlessly and to coordinate with your other suppliers. I’ll guide you through each moment until I proudly pronounce you married.
If you are having a styling package, I will arrive at least two hours before to ensure everything is perfectly set up.
✧ Step Seven | Legal Wrap Up
Registration of Your Marriage
Following your wedding, I lodge all required documentation with the Western Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, who will officially register your marriage.
✧ Step Eight | Beyond “I Do”
Change of Name (Optional)
Once your marriage is registered, you may apply for your state government-issued Certificate of Marriage (usually within 2–4 weeks of the marriage). Once you have received your Official Marriage Certificate you may choose to change your name.
You can obtain your certificate by:
Visiting directly to the WA Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) in St George’s Terrace, Perth.
Online through the BDM website, or by visiting a local courthouse
Or for a fee, I can apply on your behalf and have it posted to you.
Please note: Changing your name is optional, however a government-issued marriage certificate is required if you choose to do so.
